Tarzan swings into Pine Tree High School Theatre!
Fall production Virtual Auditions held Friday, May 8th. Use the Tarzan Broadway Musical Soundtrack available on Youtube with the audition sides. Upload a video on google drive or any other format and send to lwright@ptisd.org. Lead characters will be cast mid-May, but ensemble auditions are ongoing. Musical Camp is tentatively set for August 3-7 from 1-5 pm to learn all music for the show. |

Mrs. Wright, M.Ed.
Mrs. Wright has enjoyed 36 years of performance or director experience in high school, college, community, the symphony and musical theatre. Military Spouse and Mom to band and theatre students Chloe and Timmy, Mrs. Wright has taught high school Theatre, English, Speech, and Finance in HI, CA, and TX for 19 years. She holds a Master of Arts degree and Principal Certificate. As an Accredited Financial Counselor specializing in military deployment /combat issues, Mrs. Wright spent 12 years training and counseling active duty Marines and their families through the aftermath of 9/11 and subsequent deployments. Mrs. Wright strives to provide performance or technical skills training to connect all her students with meaningful and challenging opportunities for their future and continue the Pine Tree High School Theatre tradition of performance excellence, community support and spirit of family. |
International Thespian Society
International Thespian Society is a prestigious honor society that allows students to earn recognition for their theatrical achievements. Students that are part of Pine Tree’s Troupe 2309 can even Letter through The International Thespian Society.

Pine Tree Theatre - Guiding Principles
Any Pine Tree student is eligible to audition for our plays and volunteer to work in our technical department. Opportunities for students in performance and technical theater roles including scenic design and construction, prop construction, lighting, sound, stage management, costumes, and hair and make-up design.
THEATRE TAUGHT IN HIGH SCHOOLS FULFILS FOUR BASIC PURPOSES
I. THEATRE AS SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY:
To give the student a break from academic activities, fulfilling the same needs as a sports activity.
II. THEATRE AS LIFE ENRICHMENT:
To produce aesthetically responsive citizens with lifelong interest in the arts.
III. THEATRE AS THERAPY:
To enhance students’ personal growth and development and self-discovery, developing self-confidence, teaching group work ethics, etc.
Giving the student a break from academic activities, fulfilling the same needs as a sports activity.
IV. THEATRE AS TRAINING:
To prepare for continued and future studies in the field of Theatre Arts
PINE TREE HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE FULFILLS ALL FOUR PURPOSES, BUT OUR MISSION STATEMENT IS FOCUSED PRIMARILY ON THE FOURTH GOAL
Pine Tree Theatre students become a family as they work together to produce quality shows for our community and for competition across Texas. The skills our students embody prepares them for success in the workplace as well as in the next level of theatre education and service.
